You can make maps on Far Cry. I'm fairly certain that you can on Crysis too.

Just thought I'd point this out: Sandbox2 *is* the map maker for Crysis.

Crysis comes with the Cryengine 2 sandbox editor which lets you do a lot more than just edit the terrain.

Unreal Anthology -- comes with 4 games, and a map editor, Unreal Editor. My favourite is UT2004 which has won numerous multiplayer awards in its time, and still has an active and strong online community

There are tons of player created maps on TF2, and the community is quite active so its very very easy to find a game. It is easily right now the best arcade based type of shooter out there, if you are more the "i want it to look real type" i guess crysis but the mp isnt that great.

TF2 all across the board, I dont think its difficult to make maps but I never tried. But there are some amazing ones out there. But CoD4 is also good but I just prefer tf2

I thought you had to use Hammer to make maps on TF2. Hammer is quite complicated (for myself anyways :P ). Crysis has Sandbox 2 which is excellent and very easy to use. It would be a great place to start your map building future!

I just checked and it is hammer editor. It has a steep learning curve but it will probably be worth it if you stick with it. Sandbox 2 is miles easier though.

Team Fortress 2 without a doubt. Source map tools are top notch

If you have the rig to run it, crysis would be a great alternative.

Unreal Tournament 3 doesn't have the community, but if you want to go with UT2k4 then its a good choice.

I think COD4 is overrated but if you like it thats fine
