Heya, i was wondering if there are any pc games which are cool to play with some friends. Not online multiplayer, but games which are fun to play with some mates in the same room. Are there any games with offline multiplayer where you can use gamepads for example? (got a microsoft wireless gaming receiver) Or how is Guitar Hero 3 for PC? Hope you guys know some games, it would be cool.

Thanks in advance.

(Just in case, here are my pc specs: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHZ, 1 GB RAM and a ATI RADEON X1950 Pro 512 MB)

I'm not too sure what you mean but SWAT 4 has a cool CO-OP feature that allows you and 3/4 others to join you to clear certain missions as a team. Does get boring quite quickly though as their is a limit to how much you can do.

You just have to get Worms. Worms Armageddon is my personal choice, but any of the 2D games since Worms 2 would be a great choice. It's the ultimate hotseat game.

If you never played Worms before, it's like one of those tanks games where you have a 2D map, sideways viewed, and you have to destroy your enemy by firing weapons at them. You have to calculate trajectory and force ad weigh it against wind and stuff like that. But Worms does it with a wonderful sense of humour, a tremendous amount of fun and, well, some worms.

When you first start, you're all very bad and you'll probably spend more time killing your own worms than your enemy's - at this stage, the game is pure hilarity. I have never laughed as hard at any game as I have at Worms Armageddon. Eventually, that passes as you all start to get good. Then the game becomes a very serious affair as every rocket is a precise shot, ninja roping across seeming impassable obstacles becomes second nature and you know how to drop some TNT and escape without killing 3 of your own guys.

It's awesome as a 'comedy game' and it's just as good as a serious, tactical game. Easy to use map edititng tools and dozens of rules you can change keep the game fresh for a long time. It's just a perfect party game.

Thanks for the comments, I'll definitely get worms. Got one more question, i think it would be very fun too to play guitar hero 3 with friends, but i read that many persons have frame drop/stuttering issues. I did a test on YouGamers, here's the result: http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/9860/naamlooscg6.jpg So it says i should run this game.

This are the games minimun requirements:

PC MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Operating System: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista
  • CPU Processor: Intel Pentium D (Dual Core) 2.8GHZ or AMD Athlon 64 3500+
  • Memory: XP - 1 GB RAM, Vista - 2GB RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 5.1 GB + 1GB Swap File
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
  • Video Card: 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 128 MB Video Memory
  • Video Card (ATI): Radeon X800
  • Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 7600
  • Media Required: 4X DVD-ROM drive
  • Windows XP/Vista compatible mouse and keyboard with latest drivers
  • Guitar Hero 3 Official PC Guitar Controller

I meet every requirement, except the processor (check my first comment), do you think i'll still be able to play this game fine? It's ok if every video setting has to be put to low.

Thanks in advance

Roman
