I am planning on creating a PC for Crysis, im going to start with buying an LCD, keyboard, and speakers. Anywho this is the LCD im looking at right now:

 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824002320

I have read all the reviews on newegg about it and from that it sounds great...a bit pricy but I can deal with that. I have also looked at about every other model on newegg, but im still leary. I was looking into viewsonic cause I know they are a big name wihen talking about LCD and Monitors in general.

I know the NEC LCD won't have a ghosting problem and from the reviews it sounds as if the picture quality is above alot of its competitors; however, if you are an LCD expert or have any knowledge on LCDs I just want to know if this is a good gaming LCD buy of if there is possibly a better avenue?

Basically just want some advice. O and im not looking for a monster I think 20 inches is big enough and 1680 x 1050 that should be quite decent for gaming. Anywho I am not a PC newb by any means but I am somewhat new when it comes to LCD technology and what my money to be well spent.

 Thanks for any help given.

Dude, I have a $160 (USD) 19" Hanns-G 5ms Widescreen and I'm lovin it. Get a cheaper one. 6ms isn't that great anway, especially for the price.

I've got a 22" Widescreen Samsung 225BW and a 19" NEC 1940CX and I like them both very much. No ghosting on either. I would highly recommend widescreen. Just make sure you have a video card that can push the native resolution at the quality you want and expect.

That NEC is an absolutely phenomenal monitor. It's expensive, but you really get what you pay for. It's among the best 20.1" LCD monitors on the market.

That is probably one of the best LCD monitors on the market. It has an AS-IPS panel, which is the best. It has very accurate colors and a response time on par with the fastest TN monitors. Also instead of an antiglare coating, it has a nice shiny coating to enhance the contrast and really makes the colors jump out at you. I've researched LCD monitors myself, and this is simply one of the best you can buy at this time.

That Samsung isn't better.

Although I do agree with you on the Dell. For around a $100 more, you can get yourself a nice Dell 2407WFP 24" widescreen monitor.

That monitor is too expensive for the specs. If you spend $550ish, you can get a 22" monitor (or a cheap 24"). The point being, don't spend more than $350 for a 20.1"

That samsung definately isn't better.  Dells are nice, but still not better in picture quality.  If you want picture quality the NEC is the best.  If you want size, then go with something else.

The response time isnt that big of a deal as long its low (8ms or under). But yeah, that monitor looks really good for the price (and it only costs $60 more than my 19")

That is pretty sweet. The contrast ratio, and the refresh rate are also pretty good. I have an LG 19" with a 2ms response time and 3000:1 contrast ratio. The best thing about it is, I got it for $218 (US), with a 3 year warranty.

I've learned that its pretty difficult for a human eye to detect the difference in response times (under 7ms)...   but I'll still let my eye do the bottlenecking there!!

hehe...  its 22" its bright, its got thousands of good reviews.  I can't wait, I just got my order confirmation :D

If I remember correctly, anything at 60 Hz (usually the refresh rate of an LCD at native resolution) won't need anything lower than 12ms as ~12ms is what 60 Hz refreshes at.

I have a 17" that I've had for a pretty long time, and I'm fine with it. My point is, if you really want that moniter you can keep it for a long time, but also, you don't really need something that big and that expensive. The moniter isn't that important for gaming.

Actually, it is. It's what you'll be staring at everytime you use the computer, and a bad one will result in a bad gaming experience.
