I need some help.

Comcast has given me a free router / modem combo for the past 2 years... The modem hasn't given any issues whatsoever but the router s***s itself and gets flooded with connections whenever I try to load games (Anything source, bf2, cs 1.6, etc)

After googling for months I pretty much came up with nothing.. as the router just isn't made to handle all of those connections at once (Its a cheepie $20 netgear)

So - Do I go to comcast and pick out a new free router and return this one OR do I just buy my own router? I am pretty sure comcast has nothing nice as its all either cheap or old stuff.

If I WAS to buy my router what would you recommend? I am hardwired to it but there are other people I live with that need the wireless... I just want something easy, reliable, and somewhat cheap (Under $100)

Well, I've been working at Staples for a few weeks now (lol I know, right.) and I was looking at all the routers they have to offer over there, as I was having the same issue as you. Suprisingly, that store does have a lot to offer, just not at a price I would think about paying. Linksys has some dual-band 5GHz wireless-N routers that are supposedly great for gaming, but they run around 120 bucks. I couldn't give you an exact model name at the moment, but try looking around at something like that and see if anything turns up.
