Need some help on GPU upgrade. Havent been keeping up with new hardware.

I am looking to upgrade my GPU. Currently i have a ati 5770. It was a great budget card when i got it. but its having some trouble with newer games (not much trouble but i want perfect perfomance :P) and i wanna upgrade before arma 3 comes out in summer 2012. Is there a succesor or modern equivalent to the ati 5770?

I was hoping to spend no more then 200$ but if i have to spend a lil more ill go for it.

i believe the ebst you could land yourself is the hd 6870

10.3" was the longest reference card that I have seen.

How about spending $10-40 more and get either these cards?

I would get the 6950 over the 560 ti.

You won't get that much of an upgrade with that...keep your cash for now imoMonsieurX

The 1GB XFX 6950 has a serious DOA rate, look at the reviews on newegg, I'll avoid that card even if it was on sale. XFX has completely lost it with AMD cards.

I didnt say he shouldnt get AMD but that he should avoid XFX or atleast that particular version. The reviews are there to see for yourself, such a good price performance card never gets such a bad rating so clearly something is wrong with the batch.

If you're going to upgrade don't get anything less than a HD 6950.

Overclock both GPU and CPU and it'll last you maybe a year more max. My 4850 and PIIX4 3.1ghz is already taking a beating from The Witcher 2, so yeah. BRB going to OC my 4850.
