I have had a huge problem with games for the past couple of years. Whenever I play certain games for a small period of time, my computer will go to a black screen and the last piece of audio will be repeated endlessly. I've gone through every theory but each one seems to not fit in some way. I first thought it was my graphics card, but I have since upgraded to a laptop with a much more powerful graphics card (ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5870), which didn't help at all. Also, my graphics card seems to surpass recommended cards on most games. I had also thought it might be my processor, but I have an overclocked Intel i7 Core and my biggest problem stems from Orcs Must Die! I have had problems running Crysis or Mass Effect, which would make sense, but the game that seems to crash fastest is OMD which makes no sense. My only thought now is that the computer is overheating, but I want some form of assurance before buying something to help fix this.
