Need Some Help with PC Games.

For the past three years I have played Jedi Knight Jedi Academy (PC). The laid back enviroment that it offered could not be matched. It had its competitiv game mods, but the bulk of the game was made up of community/clan servers that just sat around the map dueling each other or unwinding from the day. It was like a 3d chat room with lightsabers and space ships. Are there any games that offer a multiplayer experince like this? Overall the easy going gaming and social aspect made it feel like a minature MMO with a better combat system and no stress from grinding or leveling. I and a few of my friends were hoping that you had some ideas so we can try a new game that offers a similiar multiplayer experince (Modded games are acceptable also). Please do not offer MMO titles.

Hm, the gameplay might be totally different (I can't think of any multiplayer games with combat as awesome as Jedi Academy's), but I find that TF2 generally has an awesomely laid-back/friendly community.

Sure there are lots of really competitive people on some servers, but if you join a local 24-hour 2Fort server, you might have a lot of fun.
