This is the best option both in the short and long term. If you can't save up about $500-$600 for a PC then just don't get one at all. Upgrading that PC would is like trying to outfit an ice cream truck with a V12 engine--it's just not worth it.

To upgrade that pc to anywhere near current tech specs, then you will have to completely refit, which means you may aswell just buy a new one... as it's going to cost a similar amount depending on what you want. Plus i don't really see that the Sony pc is going to be very upgrade friendly

yeh i agree with him, everything in that pc is so old, it aint salvagable..

i dont think you could buy any parts that could match up with anything in that pc to upgrade with anyways lol.. youd need a time machine to upgrade your current pc

Alienware = overpriced, overpriced, overpriced

Go for cyberpowerpc/ibuypower - but you taking a risk since some of their comps have defective parts. But they offer great deals. (ie. same tech specs

as an alienware comp but 1/2 or even 1/3 the price)

Go for newegg for both good pricing and good quality. Building your own comp from scratch seems hard, but it's not that hard. I built my first comp from

scratch in about 5-7 hrs (I messed up like 3 times too).

whoops, that 1/2 to 1/3 is an exaggeration. I meant cp and ibuypower are up to 40-50% cheaper whereas newegg is usually 30-40% cheaper.
