hello! i'm no genius when it comes to computers and i have a problem, so please someone help me out. I don't play many games at all but I just got Sims 3 for my laptop. installed and everything then it tells me i dont have the pixel shader whatnot... i'm gutted. I thought my graphics card was ok considering the laptop is only a couple years old and my husband at the time went for one with good gaming stuff in it. (he's the one with the knowledge obviously not me!) now the graphics card itself is more than enough for this game, i did read that part before hand, but it's missing some pixel shader and says i need to upgrade. Is it going to be really expensive to upgrade what i need? i dont even know what i need so any advice would be appreciated!! sorry if i sound really dumb to all you clever people. :)

You might need to update your video drivers. If that doesn't work, there really isn't an upgrade you can get to fix this problem.

Thank you Ravirr. So... How do i update video drivers? like i said, i'm not really all that clued up on these things. Is it something i can download? or something i have to buy and install physically? and if it doesn't work... is that it then for me and the sims 3? :(

Download and run this:

Or just go to run and type dxdiag >display tab and say your video card, but I'm inclined to believe it's an Intel graphics card.
