I'm looking for a netbook I could play some older games on.

I'm talking CSS, D2, WoW, W3, WC, (hopefully D3 when it comes out maybe). But nothing majorly graphicaly intense.

What sort of netbook would I be looking to get? Would I be alright with an intergrated? I've never used laptops before and I know intergrated on a desktop is abysmall but I want to hear first hand experience of playing these older games on basic laptops. Only looking to spend £300 or so.

I'ld say just don't game on a netbook. You can game on them but i wouldn't recomend using it as your main gaming PC. I think the original CS, WoW and W3 should work well, though you'll have to hack the pixels to get most games to work so that you can play at a lower resolution than what the game prescribes as minimum.

Uch **** that. I'd only use it for traveling and stuff. Since my main rig is huge and a PITA to move around.

I'd just go for games like Peggle, Diablo 2, or Plants vs. Zombies.. stuff that doesn't need any kind of graphics chip. They should run fine, and don't need a high resolution to play.

I always love suggesting Call of Duty (the first one) since it's requirements are incredibly low and there is still a huge online community.

I've played Quake Live, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and a few other old shooters on a dirt cheap Advent 4490, so as long as you're not too ambitious, you should get away with most of those games on integrated graphics. I think that CSS might be a little ambitious for the GMA 950 chipset, but I've heard there are tweaks that will get it running. Forget about new or future 3D games on this chipset though. If you want to do any serious gaming on a netbook, you should either wait until Nvidia Ion comes out or see if you can pick up a cheap Asus N10 now.

Just get a real laptop. It's only $1200 for an Asus with an Nvidia GT 130M that will max out most games at your laptops native resolution.

So, you have a powerful desktop for gaming that's obviously useless as a mobile computer? That will help somewhat, if StreamMyGame works out for you. Anyway, the problem with most netbooks is the use of Intel graphics, particularly the GMA900 or GMA950. For the record, they don't even have hardware transform & lighting-something present on the GeForce 4 Go 420 packed inside my old, discontinued-in-2005 TC1100, and that wasn't even close to the state-of-the-art mobile graphics back then, either! The GMA500, being a rebadged PowerVR chip (remember that name?), might fare a bit better, but I wouldn't hold my breath. NVIDIA Ion-based netbooks obviously won't have that problem, but they're far more of an exception than the rule.
