I bought I netbook and want to find some old games that I can play on it.

It is 1024x600, 1gb DDR2, Atom 270 (1.6ghz), and XP.

It runs CS 1.6 great but doesnt run Half Life: Source very well at all. What games should I get for it that would work well? I like the sims, would that run fine? I was also thinking about GTA3. Unreal? Suggestions?

I do, obviously, but when I'm on the road I'd like to have some games to play.

Your sig is wrong. An E7300 dual core is only a 2.66Ghx processor. Not a 3.00Ghz.

why buy a netbook to play games on? Buy a proper laptop - bigger screen, more power, and can have a graphics card suitable for gaming. Netbooks seem to be an evolutionary missing link between mobiles/PDAs and laptops - but missed out because they were pointless. They are too big to be considered pocket sized, and lacking in power and features of proper laptops.

You're so very wrong...netbooks are actually being hailed as one of the greatest things since sliced bread in some circles. It gives full web browsing funcionality without the "bulk" that you seem to find necessary.

And to the original poster...try Grim Fandango, Starcraft, Warcraft, Quake 3, or Civilization.

Another good thing to do would be to look at the gamespot reviews and sort them by year. Anything in or before 2003 should run pretty well.

Anything from the 90s. It might be a good time to catch up on all those classics you haven't gotten around to playing yet. LucasArts adventures are still as awesome as they were back in the day.

But they are perfect for what 90% of people use laptops, surfing the internet. Laptops boast more powerful components and longer feature lists every year but the average user doesn't really need half of those things anywhere.
