The yellow port goes to your modem, then 1 of the black ones go to your PC.

Ok go to 192.168.0.1 (for netgear routers), use/pass is admin/admin or admin/pass by default.

Take a look in the settings page and see if the router is being given a IP, and see if your computer is listed in attached devices or something along those lines. If its not being given a IP, restart the router AND modem, take the power out and leave them off for like 15secs.

If your computer doesnt show up, but your router has a IP, come back here.

hey fell asleep last night :P OP is your problem fixed yet? if not, you may need to see what IP your cable/dsl modem has, most newer ones come with DHCP or some routing functionality on them but even then it may not work, i had a CenturyLink modem and its IP (without bridging it of course) was 192.168.1.1 (if i remember correctly)...the problem is that a lot of time the stock default gateway (or stock IP) on the router has that same IP so there's an IP addressing conflict...i do static addresses on all my devices in my home using the Linksys E3000 with it's MAC address & IP address mapping/binding functionality ("DHCP Reservation" is the term they coined)...so you may want to fix the stock IP address on that wireless router and then set the first IP address for its DHCP table to be say 192.168.1.201, that way it increments to 202, then 203, 204, etc....it makes things a lot easier
