When i'm playing games online or just periodically if i'm surfing the web about every 30-40 minutes i will have to restart my network adapter through the windows troubleshoot system. It was says that the default gateway was not available.I am running a hard line to my modem i dont use a router at the moment.

It releases your current ip address and renews it. Your modem may not be giving out addresses properly when they expire.

Try it and see. Why don't you have a router?

yeah i tried doing that and the problem still persist.I'm trying to figure out or not what exactly the issue is.I tried switching out the ethernet cord but that didnt help.So i really am thinking its just the network card. The modem i have is brand new and the connection on that is stable.
