Neverwinter Nights 2 annoying bug

Hello, can anyone please help?

I am running Neverwinter Nights 2 version 1.06.973 english. The first time Old Owl Well pops up on the world map, I am sent there by Axle to find some emissary. So I go to that place and as soon as it loads a cutscene starts with some bushes swinging at the wind and it goes on forever. I left the PC on for like an hour to see if this will somehow resolve itself but it doesn't. I don't know how to skip cutscenes (if possible at all) either. So far I have found only complains about this bug on the net and no solutions.

Any ideas?

Lowering video settings does nothing. I might have to reinstall the game after all. I hope I just don't have to start all over again.

Reinstalling the game and patching it to some of the earlier versions changes nothing. Reinstalling it and trying to load my savegame at version 1.00.788 yields an endless unpacking module screen. I guess savegames are not compatible.

How could a game so big, have like 10 patches already and still have campaign stopping bugs is beyond me. I am never bying anything by obsidian again!

this game died for me when I realized every npc and ever chest drops the same loot every time with w/e char you make. made playing pointless for me. probably still fun online though.

In case someone else had the same problem and was wondering, I found a solution!

It appears that the game deletes at some point the ROS-grobnar.ros file from yor current savegame. This file should be in all the individual folders for each savegame you have. Just copy the file from some older save and the thing should work fine.

Yeah, I'm playing through NWN2 right now, but haven't come across that yet. That's unacceptable and Obsidian should be on the ball fixing this problem, no excuses. I have found the multiplayer to be more fun overall though, heck I still play the first NWN.
