Hey guys. Someone brought this up on another forum. Wondering what you think. Could be fake, could be real. Admittedly it does look suss (nvidia sticker on cooler) yet the PCB design is unique. Apologies if this has been posted before.

I personally think its worthless. Its just another CPU running slower and being restricted by the PCI bus speed.

Im sure in a distant future about 10 years we'll see PPU required games.. I mean if sound card takes a load off the cpu and gpu takes another load off it too then there would be more room for AI processing etc...

Haven't you heard about the AI card?
So if the CPU isn't going to be processing the graphics, AI, sound or physics...
What is the CPU going to be doing?

I think the only way Ageia is going to succeed would be to allow chipset manufacturer's to add the PPU to mobo's. If its integrated then its going to be adopted by more people than if its a seperate add in card.

But to be honest, with the advent of multi core CPU's its just not needed. The only thing I think would really work for Ageia would be to allow a PPU to be integrated as a core into a mutilcore CPU the way AMD and Intel are investigating integrated GPU's.

...or simply drop the manafacturing side of things and give game developers improved software tools to code physics (to run on CPUs).

It would also help if Ageia would allow their PhysX hardware to accelerate other types of physics engines, like HavoK, Source, etc.

I would have totally bought one if HL2 could even be moderately accelerated/improved with it.
