Maybe old news, but it seems like once Starcraft 2 comes out Bnet will become something like GFWL or Ubisoft's new DRM where you have to be online to play a single player game. Again, not saying it WILL be like that, but it seems like it will make you go online at some point to be able to play the single player campaign. http://pc.ign.com/articles/106/1068160p1.html

It isn't quite right. You need to be online to use b.net, obviously, but it has nothing to do with the singleplayer except achievements.

That would be good. I know it is normal nowadays to be online 24/7 (while your pc is on), but you never know when your ISP is going to go nuts on you and the drop the service for a couple hours. I just hope no one gets crazy ideas like Ubisoft storing save games in their servers...

I think server side save games are freaking awesome...so many times (over the course of 20 years) has my computer crashed or whatever, and I loose all my save games. Plus, it would be great if you installed your game on another computer all of your saves would be available. I know it's not the same for everyone, but my internet connection is extremely stable so this kind of this would be a huge benefit for me. I am not scared of cloud computing :P

/agree. As an optional feature, storing your saves in their servers is brilliant... but only if it's optional.

Agreed. If you really keep having your computer crash, go invest in an external HDD (or just another HDD), or periodically backup your game save files online.

I've had 3 computers go kaput in like 20 years...it's not an issue. Just saying server side saves are a great and fantastic idea...much better than backing things up to a removeable drive.

I am not worried about servers going kaplut. After all, the Internet is working perfectly fine, Facebook has all my log entries, I still have e-mail in my inbox from 2002, and the CIA has all my chat conversations between me and aliens.

Erm, the whole "WarCraft in Space" is just a joke man. This is what StarCraft looked like when it was first announced:

It was literally WarCraft 2 in space. It had such a poor reception that they did away with everything but the concept, and remade the game. But the whole fiasco stuck with it, and people joked about it, even though it ended up being nothing like WarCraft in the end.

I'm not really impressed with new B.net.
