[QUOTE="Cerza"][QUOTE="dnuggs40"] "I still think Hellgate wil be a better game...."
I absolutely agree. Hellgate: London is the absolute most anticipated game for me this year. It has so much potential...
One reason I think HG:L will be better is Diablo III most likely continue along with the original story line. I don't think this is a bad thing, but HG:L deffinetly offers a fresh story and unique environment. Plus, as you already said, it's from the developers of Diablo...this already gives them an advantage...
lokstah
I couldn't agree with you more.
Well, I sort of disagree. We know nearly nothing about Diablo III--heck, it may not even be on the drawing board, let alone have a story or development team to criticize. Hearing you guys speculate is like hearing someone compare the 2007 Boston Red Sox to the 2010 Lubbock Cowpokes.
Actually, to be accurate, since no one here has spent any serious time with Hellgate either, it's more like comparing the Boston Red Sox of this Fall with the 2010 Lubbock Cowpokes.
Vintage Gamespot fanboy chatter, no offense.
Well that is why I said "likely". No one know for sure...but I would call it more of an educated guess. Do you remember how Diablo II left off? It's obvious they were (at least back then) planning on continuing the story. So I wouldn't say we know nothing, we know they at one point did want to further the story. So it's not as uneducated as you suggest.
The comment about the developers being the same ones from Diablo is accurate and meaningfull. It does not suggest that HG:L is an automatic success becuase of this, but it certainly shows promise.
And no, it's not like "comparing the Boston Red Sox of this Fall with the 2010 Lubbock Cowpokes.". We know a great deal about HG:L, and the only thing we have compared with Diablo III is some things that are likely implementations in the game (continuation of the story).
And I don't think it "fanboy chatter" at all. It wasn't "omg HG:L rules!!! Diablo III will sux!". It was a generalized statement of opinion, based on some facts and likely developments.
"Vintage Gamespot fanboy chatter, no offense."
Vintage Gamespot trolling, no offense
