New build not letting me install OS...help please

Im building a computer for my friend and I had everything hooked up and i turn it on and it beeps once. I have the windows cd in the drive and when the comptuer turns on it shows the motherboard manufacture and i can press delete to go to the bios screen.  After that it goes to the "windows is loading files" screen and the bar gets to the end and then hte monitor acts like the comptuer turned off even thought the fans and everything is still on....please help me with this i dont know what i did wrong.

nope the monitor just like self adjusts like when you turn off the comptuer then the light turns from blue to orange on the monitor(its an hp)

I would check and make sure everything is plugged in correctly, the parts are compatabile, and theres an adaquate ammout of power coming from the PSU.

EDIT - Also check the RAM if you can. Remove one at a time and power up to test and see if it is a RAM related problem.

I would lean more towards the RAM.As stated.
