I'm going to be building a PC to replace my current aging p4 system. As a result, my budget is around $1100. I could go up to about $1400 if need be, but Id like to stick around $1000 or $1100. The main purpose is for gaming, but also I use it for Photoshop. Other than that, just simple stuff like web browsing, music, etc. Nothing too taxing except for the gaming. I would like it to be able to game at 1920x1200 in the future, because right now I'm only at 1280x1024 with my current monitor, and I won't be upgrading that for some time yet. So with those facts in mind, what would you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!

you could build an i7 rig or a phenom 2 rig..you have a big budget so I'd suggest an i7 920,6gb's of ddr3 ram and a 9800gtx or a 4850(this is because your resolution is pretty small),and you said you were upgrading your monitor in the future,well..you can upgrade it when windows 7 is out with dx11and also upgrade to a dx11 gpu as you're not gonna spend much right now

Here,a decent build for your current resolution, like I said would be great upgrading to a new monitor when windows 7 is out with dx 11,along with a dx 11 gpu: -mobo -cpu -memory -2x 640gf hdd's -psu -graphics card -case

edit:total is 1160 usd, without rebates, shipping and everything, rebates should bring the price down a good chunk

I recently got on powernotebooks.com and bought a Powerpro laptop for around $1400. But the site allows you to customize your computer to fit your budget.
