Hello, i am ordering a new rig from alienware and i was wonderingabout everyones opinions, i have yet to order it so if you would suggest some other componenti would appreciate it. I also have a question on the PSU, im not sure which company (it might be thermaltake or something) but i was wondering if i should upgrade from 750Watt to 1000Watt, does it matter?

  • IntelCore 2 QuadQ9550 12mb cache CPU
  • 750 or 1000 watt PSU
  • GTX 295 GPU
  • Nvidia nforce 750i motherboard
  • 4DDR2 GB ram
  • Vista 64-bit
  • 500 GB Hard Drive
  • Razer lachesis 4000 dpi phantom white mouse
  • Razer Tarantula keyboard

any help with different components or the power supply will be appreciated.

And if you wouldn't suggest something other than alienware, i like their quality and little features that are useful so my mind is made up for that :).

Phew, I would hate to see the price tag. I would DEFINITELY recommend building your own pc. It's easy, and everyone here will help you pick out the parts and put the system together ;)

That sounds like it's going to be in the 2000$-3000$ range. For half that , you could build your own with the help of your local store, google, and the GS/Gamefaqs community (then get the alienware case off ebay). Anyhow, to answer your question, a 750 Watt powersupply would do it just fine for you. Now, if you can get 1000W one for a slight increase (like, 20$ or less) I'd go for it, but otherwise, 750W is fine.

If you like to save money, you'll build it yourself.
