I know everyone says Borderland 2 but I'm just not into anime cartoons. Rage had super real graphics which I like. Now I wouldn't mind trying Borderland 2 if you think I might like it, but I love the special effects on Sci Fi movies and I guess that is why I like Rage so much. I also like as much interaction with the charaters. All suggestions are sure welcomed?

I don't see how Borderlands graphics could be called "anime cartoons".

^This You could try Fallout 3 / Fallout New Vegas = Similar setting + Lots of Character Interaction

I highly recommend borderlands 2 and 1, but 1 you need a friend(s). 2 though is far from anime, it is beautiful and colorful. If anything try 1 since it is cheap and if you like it but feel it could be way better def get 2. Character interaction is ok but there is not that much, it is no mass effect.

Yeah calling Borderlands 2 "anime cartoons" is just... nonsensical.

But the Fallout games have a grittier look to them, but as far as gameplay, music and settings I'd say Borderlands is easily the closest you'll get to a game like RAGE.

...as much as I can't see Rage's art being considered super real, unless you were under the influence when you played Rage, there's no way anyone would consider it as something more than cartoons. Borderlands 2's graphics are better than Rage and the game overall is substantially better, you won't get any other decent recommendations, it's THE game to get, go past your misconceptions and play an awesome game.
