Hi. Is there any new games what you can mod where you can see the scripts and open the scripts to alter the game?.I use to *try* and mod star trek bridgecommander and did a few but not big scripts even though that game was excellent for modding but i just want something up to date whats got modding tools.

Thanks

Well there is Steams application SourceSDK. Also Crytek has a map modding utility for Crysis that would be the most up to date. As far as scripts, most games will allow you to modify basic game files. It sort of depends on where your skill level lies and what type of modding you want to do.

The Source SDK, available in the tools section of steam, easily allows the creation of mods for Half-Life, and the other Source Engine games. It gives you the option to create the base folder for the mod, and then you can dive into the source code and alter just about every aspect of the game, provided you have the required know-how, of course.

You can also download the Crysis SDK. I've never used it personally, although I'd have thought it would compliment the CryEngine Sandbox very nicely.

Bethesda's RPGs are famous for their modability. Take a look at Fallout 3. Oblivion is another slightly less recent one, and Morrowind is another even less recent one.

The Sims 3 has some modding support in it right now. Also, I hear Demigod (allthough I don't have the game, waiting to build my new rig to play it) is going to add modding support, to the point where players will be able to design their own Demigods.
