With that budget I wouldn't call it a decent gaming rig if you take the monitor out it would be easier to work with, unfortunatly a good 20" monitor would cost close to 100GBP that would make things hard, I'll see what I can do though.

Sorry but that budget is impossible to work with... you are using a monitor now so keep that one or you would end up lagging with most games on low-medium on a 20" monitor. Drop it or push your limit by another 50-60 pounds. Heres what 444.27GBP can get you: - AMD Athlon X2 240 - Gigabyte GA-M52L-S3P nForce 520LE - Kingston HyperX 2x2GB 800Mhz DDR2 - Samsung F2 500GB HDD - OCZ StealthXStream 400w - CoolerMaster Elite 335 - LG 22x DVD-RW SATA Dual Layer - PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 4730 512MB - Dell IN2010N 20" 16:9 monitor All these parts are from the following very reliable and highly recommended UK based site: www.overclockers.co.uk

I would only recommend buying a refurbished PC from people who know what they are doing, if your thinking of retail stores like Curreys or Comets i would stay away. What system have you got in mind?

Buying that system then adding on a card will cost around 400GBP... I highly recommend that you opt for a self built system similar to the one I've posted you will have better gaming and overall performance a bigger/better monitor and more harddrive space all for an extra 40GBP, you will be kicking your self if you go for that system. If you are doubting that you aren't capable of putting it all together installing an OS reformating etc... then I understand for a first timer its quiet a daunting idea. If I were you I would save atleast another 100 and buy a system from www.overclockers.co.uk for 350GBP and get a decent monitor from somewhere.

iv'e never put a system together b4 so i probably dont know what i'll be doing, having said that how much cheaper would it be putting one together? i was once told that putting all the parts together is pretty simple its just that when u turn it on the first time and it dosn't work you'll be in a bit of bother.

Yeah thats the daunting part about it, it could be any part thats faulty trouble is for a first time builder that doesn't know what he/she is doing you wouldn't know what to check and what to send back. Again my advice would be to get more money together and buy the AMD system for 360GBP from www.overclockers.co.uk and buy a decent monitor with the rest of the money. If you want to save 30-40GBP you could build but I would recommend that you study like you would for college or uni on the subject till you feel comfortable then put one together and if you do run into a problem there are always people on forums willing to help.
