Wow I haven't been on Gamespot forums for a while! Well anyways, my brother is moving away to Florida tomorrow to pursue his major legaue baseball career, and he needs a laptop in a couple of weeks. Luckily for him, my parents are paying for it (they never paid for any of my computer expenses  ) and they are trying to spend around $900 - $1200 US (I'm from Canada btw). He is mainly using it for business purposes, but he has also told me that he might play some video games (he likes Oblivion, but it's not that his laptop can keep up with the game's demands).

After a couple minutes of researching, I found this laptop from Bestbuy. How would you rate it, and would the GeForce 8600M GT be able to run Oblivion and future DX9/10 games? If you don't like that laptop, what one would you recommend? I will greatly appreciate any comments!

Thanks,

Brook

Oh man tha tthing is ugly! I wouldn't touch that with a 10ft pole...

I would suggest any of the DELL inspirons, or the XPS M1330. If that doesn't fly with you, take a look at some of the Zepto laptops out there, they're also great. If that doesn't tickle, check out the Vaios from Sony, or the newer ones from HP.

Have fun deciding!

The only brand name I see repeated with good reports when you put the words "gaming" and "laptop" in the same searches is SAGER. I don't know that PC Torque is a particularly great Sager dealer, they just were near the top of a current Google search response for Sager PC (and then I didn't include the URL!)

Here's the missing URL: http://www.pctorque.com/sager-laptops.php
