So far I am having a blast picking new parts I want for my new PC build. Once I get all the parts that I want I will begin building but now the only 2 things I am worried about is a new monitor and some RAM. I was originally gonna just take the 2 gigs out of my current computer but I decided to just give the whole computer to my mom and leave the ram in so she doesnt have to mess around with it. Can anyone suggest a monitor. Right now I have a 17 inch monitor with the max res of 1280-1024, but I am looking to a get an upgrade because my brother just got a huge (in comparison) monitor and well.....i would like the same. I am leaning towards a widescreen and am willing to spend up to 350$.

Onto RAM. At the moment I know close to nothing about RAM other then most people prefer DD2 800 so I will probably go with that. I dont want insanely expensive RAM I am just looking for some in the ballpark of 200-250$.

Thanks for your time.

Essentially, theres not much a good reason to go beyond 19" 16:9 on your monitor.

Regarding RAM I would say just get the lowest latency stuff you can find, right now I believe that is G.Skill (wish I had seen it before I bought that Corsair XMS2, the latency sucks in comparison).
