I will install them now (WHQL)

so, if I understand other comments in other threads, you don't need to delete old drivers to update to new versions? People say different things on this, but I will install them in safe mode either way.

My 3dmark06 score increased with these drivers.

If I back off all overclocking my rig now racks up a respectable 9900 marks. With the drivers from about three months ago it was more like 9200.

They're improving...ever so slightly enough to let me break 11k in Vista...

When I was having issues, both evga and BFG told me to only install drivers in safe mode (mobo, gfx, sound) because it is a "cleaner install." I don't know what that means exactly, but I have nothing to lose by doing it.

lol yeah, nothing except restarting, pressing f8, waiting for the slow loading, the slow install in safe mode, then restarting. absolutly nothing :D.

You honestly consider the start time for safe mode to be a "loss?" I am not exactly sure what an appropriate response to that would be... Needless to say, I would rather have the job done right than done quickly and incorrectly.

I've runned 3D Mark06 & my score is 3662 with this driver.

Before I've used 162.44 driver & got 4395 score. Nearly 800 difference.

Maybe I will reinstall my old drivers. WTF with these new drivers ?

Well rivatuner also released a new version (2.04)...supposedly supporting up to driver 163.67...but not this driver. I still have the problem with being unallowed/unable to overclock past a 594 core clock.

rivatuner 2.05 is supposed to be released soon after some testing...hopefully in time for crysis demo. I could use the extra fps.

I actually found that 158.22 works the best (with the 8800GTS), but only testing with DiRT, I think I tried 163.44 and it was the same in most games

So what's the verdict? Get these new drivers or no? I'm currently on 163.44 and I can't say my performance sucks. Getting over 9000 on 3DMark06 already and I would rather it not go down.

I can tell a difference with the new drivers. Got a 8800gts, and Bioshock would give me crappy framerates at random times (mostly when just starting the game). It was obviously a driver issue, since the framerate drop wasn't dependent on the amount of action on the screen. Now it's very smooth.
