Alright, I'm a new PC gamer. Heres the question (don't flame me even if its a dumb question). Do the GeForce 8800's work with Laptops?

If you're talking about something you can buy off the shelf, the answer is no. In fact, I don't even know if they make an 8800 line of laptop GPUs.

Most laptops feature onboard video. I have a desktop replacement (17") and I could replace the 7800 in it with one that's a bit better, but that's a pretty rare thing.

If you're thinking of gaming with a PC, you're pretty much going to need a desktop or be willing to drop a pretty penny.

If you're looking to upgrade a laptop, well, you can't really. You can upgrade ram and I think processors to a certain degree, but GPUs are rare.

If you're looking at buying a gaming laptop, well, I'd personally recommend against it unless you think you will be doing a lot of travelling. The only reason I have one capable of it is because I moved half way around the world. But if you're bent, apparently they do make 8800 GTX's for laptops.

Alienware has a laptops with highend GPUs in them. But the cheapest I could find (don't be fooled by their listed price- that only includes 1GB of ram) was $1600 and that only has an 8700m.

I thought one of the dell laptops may have had a 8700.
