i'm a new PC gamer. I have Crysis...and can play it on High settings without a problem. that gives you an idea of my computer and what it can do. so i'm wondering how it will handle WOW and is it a game worth getting. I've heard a lot about it, but i'm also a very big console gamer. so i may not have the time to dedicate to WOW, that i should be dedicating. is it still a game worth getting or not?

if you get WOW and you get into it you will forget about console gaming, crysis and sometimes real life too. simple as that

your computer can max WOW. You should just try the trial of WOW(I think there is one) and see if you like it.

I say meh to all MMO games. You have to pay $15 dollars a month for dated graphics and gameplay that's not even that fun, really. Granted I did enjoy playing Galaxies a bit, but the game was under populated

If you are curious about MMOs in general, then WoW is about the best choice you can make.

Its accessable, it has a large and generally friendly community, its not frustratingly slow-paced.

Ya, its a good choice give it a try. There is also a 10-day trial iirc.

generally friendly community

ya very friendly... not.

if you actually play the game for a while you will find that:

90% of the people there are nice, or nice enough, not to bother you and usually help you
10% are problably jerks or just internet jerks, and are more than likely just kids and you shouldnt be bothered by them.

Lemme put it this way: if you can post on Gamespot, then you can put up with the occasional tool on WoW.

Don't worry about not having enough time to dedicate to WoW. Don't be a slave to the game, play on your on schedule. I do. Nobody is forcing you to do Raids or anything else that requires an abnormal amount of play time. You can still have fun being a casual gamer in WoW. That's why it is so pupular with the masses.

WOW is great, but easily one of the worst communitys on the internet without a doubt.

You can max WoW. It's a pretty bad game though. Terrible gameplay. If you enjoy killing repetitive monsters by tapping "1" , "3" and occasionally "5" for hours on end - it's bound to be your favorite game.

WOW sucks, IMO only stupid people get addicted to it. So yes, I think Wow has 10,000,000 stupid subscripers, no offense intended just my opinion. It's just a freaking MMO like all stupid others, what's the big deal with it I fail to see.

WoW is more of a twisted (anti) social experiment than a video game.

Yea give the WoW trial a go.

I didnt mind it, and actually got hooked to the game in the trial, but did not want to have to keep paying sub fees in the long run -the experience simply didnt justify it.

As others have said, go for the trial and if you like it, buy the game. If you are at all concerned about getting addicted, don't buy the game.

As far as the community, my server was by and large very cool. The jerkoffs were few and far between and were for the most part blacklisted by everyone else. I can't say that's the case for every server though. I've heard enough horror stories and played enough cross-realm PvP to believe what others say about the terrible community.
