I just built my new (and first) PC a couple days ago and most everything works great. Then it started to completely shut off when I played a game, but my psu is 750W so it should be able to handle it just fine. I reconnected the cables to the graphics card and it doesn't shut down anymore. Instead it randomly restarts. It goes to the blue screen and most of the time it doesn't give the same STOP message. I tried a system restore but that didn't work. I am only guessing when I say it's a program or software somewhere, but I don't know where to begin. If you need specs or more info. please let me know. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Specs always help, but you might want to start by flashing your bios to the most recent version and updating all of your drivers. After that, I would check ram for errors.

Usually BSODs on new builds are driver issues, but it could also be a hardware compatibility issue with your motherboard.

RAM is the most likely culprit.

could be that a part is overheating and causing y9ur computer to restart. Most tiimes its the CPU or the videocard. Check temperatures.

specs would help. If you have something high end saying you have a 750W Psu wont help. It might be a genereic $40 750W Psu that is more in line with a semi-decent 450W Psu

If you are having random restarts (that can be from anywhere after windows boots to hours later, and it doesnt matter what you are doing) it is most likely that you have a RAM stick that is bad.

I had a computer doing this for a while and after i replaced the memory stick I didnt have this problem anymore. Turned out that dropping it those two inches on the way of putting it in hurt it enough.
