I'm think about getting a new Ram.The 1 I have now is a 512mb ram and I was think about getting a 1gb ram.But I have a few questions first.

Where is the best place(in Ireland)to get a Ram?

How much does it cost(in euros)?

Can u put them in yourself or do I need a expert to do it?

Thanks in advance.

:o 15 euros.Is that it.I thought a ram would cost 100 euros.

How much is a 1gb ram?

Are they easy to install?

Do I have to take out my old ram and put a new one in or can I buy a 512MB ram and put the 2 together?

Also thanks for helping

Most motherboards have 4 slots or so for ram, its as simple as opening your PC box, and sticking a stick of RAM into a slot, there is a clip and it just slides in..its probably one of the most straightfoward things to do with a PC

Go to crucial.com and let them scan your system. They will tell you what you have and what you need/can get.

IMHO crucial is the best brand of ram.

I've had the computer for 2 and a half years but I'm getting a new one next year.I just want to update this one a bit.The only problem is that I only have 120 euro to spend on it.So I thought a new RAM would be best.Am I wrong?

Don't upgrade this. Bcoz those parts are very OLD & if you buy those parts, you won't be able to put them in your new one.

(Buy a HDD or something like that if you want)

I own the KV8 Pro and use to be my primary board.. Buy 2gb set (2x 1 gb sticks) DDR 400/PC3200 Thats the max youc an put on that board.. It only has 2 slots if memory serves.. Go for Cosair, Crucial, or OCZ.. These you can find for cheap on places such as Newegg and are top quality.

For agp solution like a 2600X pro/XT radeon model card should work amazing.. Or if you can find one a 1900XT which is some what faster then these cards.. Either way you will see a AMAZING performance increase.. Trust me you will be breathless.. I can not properly say how weak your card is now compared to these oness I have stated. Also always make sure that you are buying the AGP version of these cards and not the PCI express.. You do not have that slot and will be very annoyed having to pay again for shipping to return it back to the store.
