Yeah, yeah, another one of these. But, I think I've narrowed down my choices, and would like to get some input from you smartie-heads out there. I'm not going for super-top-of-the-line performance or anything, but I think this will take care of my gaming needs for awhile. If you see any gaping holes, let me know.

Case

Mobo

Processor

RAM

PSU

DVD Burner

For the time being, I'm going to recycle my Audigy2 and my 7900GT, upgrading the GT to probably the 320mb 8800 within a month or so. I am not planning to OC anything, so I'm guessing extra fans aren't going to be necessary. Anyway, that's what I've got. Comments welcome.

Nothing much to comment about; expect for the fact that it's a very good rig you built there. And with time, your upgrading the GPU like you mentioned. Without OC'ing, just making sure you have proper airflow in the case is going to be sufficient.

Here, get this motherboard for $3 more.

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

And you still need a hard drive. Try this

Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

Sorry, forgot to mention that I have a 500gb HD I'm using.

Why that mobo vs the one I picked? Just curious.

The motherboard I suggested is more futureproof.

So does the other P35 board? (the one he chose)

Not that I'm against the Gigabyte!

Well, I'm definitely not averse to checking it out. I haven't found anything yet that really has changed my mind, though. From what I've read, the one I've got should work with Penryn, but I haven't necessarily found any solid evidence either way on it. I'm not hip to DDR3, either. I'm guessing when it becomes industry standard, I might be looking at upgrading my mobo anyway. Maybe?

I'm not really worried about a GFX card. When it comes time to need to upgrade my 7900, I will, to whatever is out there that fits my budget. The 9800 is far enough off for me to not give it a lot of thought.
