I know I know, before you all say it, 'macs arent meant for gaming' but i need it for college. So is a list of some really great Mac games? I cant find them anywhere. I like basically anything but racing, and sports. Thanks!

Mac gaming? Isn't that like, an oxymoron? Why don't you install Windows on your Mac? Doing so will give you a much wider selection of games, and will turn your Mac from a paperweight, to something half useful.

Wouldn't a laptop be cheaper? And would likely have less compatibility problems at your school (where I go, people always have problems with their Macs, especially connecting to the network and using software).

I addition to what other people have said, there is the Mac App Store (or whatever it's called).

Check the mac section of steam and also some indie titles are for mac as well (world of goo, trine, Machinarium, etc.) It would be much simpler to just buy a copy of windows and boot windows when you want to play games.

Besides Steam, look for a store that sells Mac software in your area. If you go to a typical computer store they only have Windows stuff, but you can usually find a store that specializes in Mac software including games. Steam doesn't have a huge selection yet for Mac. There are many games ported for Mac over the years that aren't on Steam. You also want to check compatibility though. Macs can't play really old games as well as PCs can. Stick to games that support OS X out of the box or have patches to make them work with OS X.

Since you are in college go and purchase the Student Upgrade of Windows 7 for $30. Install it onto your macbook (Dualboot). Then play every game that exists.

It will just be a second operating system on your computer, you choose which of them to boot into when you turn the computer on. It won't slow down your computer, but you will lose hard drive space.
