Well, you see that I've played with M/K setup and still baffles me. I see how the mouse is more accurate but using the arrow keys to move while mouse dies camera feels unnatural. Before I owned any systems I played games on PC as a kid. Personally for me even after hours of play the M/K isn't as natural for shooters definitely. Wiimote is definitely the best FPS control option. But in term my quick response. Arrow keys and mouse isn't as fast as two joystick and a trigger. So back to my point. Can I find a Dualshock like controller for under 15 buck on Amazon or whatever? I only have PS3 or PC as options for Skyrim. The PS3 version is buggy so PC has to be better. What kind of Skyrim mods can my PC do?yab19998
Wrong on BOTH accounts.
If you're using Wiimote or Dualshock controller in an FPS against a player using M/K, he will own you so much you would cry....
I'm talking about me personally... I should have put that in. I sure a mk user can aim faster, but can he move as quickly and accurately with arrow key. You have to change the camera to move in diagonals unlike a joystick where it's easier to do so.yab19998Trust me, if ur talking about FPS, there is NOTHING better than M/K. I have used all control types, and a M/K Player would own anyone else using other methods. If ur comfortable with joystick that's fine, but if you go online and play Multiplayer, prepare urself to get shot lots....

Honestly could you guys help me... I'm a console gamer becoming a PC gamer. You're not going to convince me that M/K is better that a controller... Could you help with my other questions.yab19998
Hard to help someone that doesn't want to hear truth and be helped...
If ur a console gamers and want to play FPS on PC online, you have to get used to M/K, simple.
If u want to still use controller, just get an XBOX 360 controller for Windows.
Don't worry, he'll soon realise how much better m/k is...although I suspect he's still using his laptopt's touchpad and the arrows keys....
Anyway, till then, you can use a 360 controller, it's as simple as plug and play, but not supported by some games. Also, you can use your ps3 controller as well, you just need motionjoy, which will make the pc think you are using a 360 controller. You can even use a wii-mote and nunchuck, but that requires much more setup.
On a laptop the arrow keys are on the left and the mouse in on the right. That means I'll have to switch to use my right hand as arrow key and as mouse control.
Well, LISTEN, I've used K/M before, it's not that I don't know that Mouse/ is more accurate, I have no problem with that. I REALLY hate the keyboard setup.
I Hate:
the arrow keys/wasd to move, spacebar to jump, e to interact, shift to sprint, r to reload, escape to pause
If controller users really get owned that badly, I will buy BF3 for PS3/ instead of PC, OK?
You guys have to admit for things other than aiming a controller is better. K/M is better at aiming and faster.
the PS3 has a more effective way to shoot, iron sight and launch grenades
I feel like this thread is being derailed. I want to know about buying games: GameStop or Steam or both. How to buy a cheap controller than works with PC or step for getting my current ones to work. I will buy Battlefield 3 for PS3 since you guys say controller users get owned badly. Other than that, Gears of War 1, Skyrim , Civilization 5 will be fine.
Should I get Max Panye 3? Is it any good?
I like Planetside 2 demos I saw at E3, but if its that bad for controller users i'll stick with Dust 514, it's very similar...

No wonder you hate it, don't use the arrow keys to move. I haved used a keyboard for years and I haven't used arrows since the days of Doom.
WASD takes practice. I know I use to detest it back when it was introduced. The more you use it the better you will get at it, especially if you are use to moving with analog sticks. It's not something you immediately pick up right off the bat and are an expert with it. Like most good things it takes a little while to get used to, but when you do pick it up you will wonder how you ever did without it.
No a keyboard and mouse don't always trump controllers, like driving or playing a platform game.

There's your problem, don't use the arrow keys. Standard setup for most games, but fps's in particular, is wasd for movement, spacebar jump, shift for run or walk, ctrl for crouch, etc.
Gamepads are great for racers and platformers, but they're a serious handicap in shooters, and I wouldn't even bother trying to play an MMO or RTS on the PC if I didn't have a M/KB.
MKB is the reason Counter-Strike: GO isn't cross-platform after they announced it would be. I want to try and find the article, but to my understanding, they had cross-platform implemented and the PS3 players just go straight up owned, so they yanked the feature.
That said, play however you want. Games are about entertainment at the end of the day. If you understand that the mouse is significantly more accurate, and the keyboard offers significantly better control, but don't care, then neither do I.
I too am fairly new to pc gaming and i would suggest get on with it cause its not rocket science and you'll eventually get it.... further more i don't konw if its self confidence or what but since gaming on pc it actually made me more aware of my aim on consoel games such as battlefield 3.... so, its basically win win..
