personally, i find that i aim much better when my mouse sensitivity is relatively low. also, make sure you're not moving around to much when you shoot, and stick with teammates! and for BC2, make sure you "spot" at any opportunity available. you'll get better very quickly as you get more used to the controls.
I know the feeling :P
It gets to you later when you want to play games on consoles.
The PC is evil for spoiling you with awesome graphics and controls and makes me wish that this was the only platform because it gives players, and devs, such freedom and space to work.
And just keep practicing and you will master the mouse in no time.
play alot of games with lax folk.. stuff like l4d2, tf2, SSHDTSE, HL2:DM (free if you have an actual gpu from nvidia or ati), CSS, painkiller, etc.
stuff that at least has a tolerance for spray n pray. i personnaly buy budget shooters to practice in stuff like Code of honor 3, terrorist takedown 3, sniper ghost warrior, etc. and then log serious hours in less forgiving games like bfcb2, or bf2142 or w/e
i find that strategy also works but you need to have a tolerance for that sort of thing.
Also, can anyone suggest other good shooters? Not really into the zombie games... tbh, they kinda freak me out.101checkmate
of course naturally you have blops
if you pc is powerful enough there is always farcry 2, crysis and shattered horizons (generally speaking how you play bfbc2 is how well you play crysis)
sniper: ghost warrior.. is average
team fortress 2
half life 2 + expansions (has a little bit of zombie action.. very little)
hl2: death match
counter strike: source
portal
tom clancy's rainbow 6 veags 1 & 2
arma II
operation flashpoint classic
code of honor 3: desperate measures (the first level is an homage to cod4's secret level :P )
id say stalker but its got zombie action, as a result id also avoid bioshock, singularity, metro 2033, painkiller, and killing floor which
is a darn shame
Give it a few more weeks.... Once you go PC you'll never go back. xDDogswithgunsWho's the dude in your sig, looks very familiar somehow...
You will never see a console gamer pull some of these stuff off http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnyW4PRv8M0 Anyway i would suggest CS : Source or Team Fortress 2, but they are not really newbie friendly. I assume you have Black Ops on your 360 too?GeneralShowzer
I'd go for CS over CSS, but either one is a great game.
And the Half Life series (1, 2, episodes) is essential for any PC gamer.
Like a few ppl said, get used to high sensativity. It might be a shell shock but I'm telling you in the long run it will save your life. Also, play a few FPS games on easy to start out with. Quake 4 is a good fun shooter that is straightforward, where you're in corridors and such. I would try that on a low difficulty.....it doesn't look that bad either.
Edit: Also, it's an older game but totally different than anything out there and it's free! http://www.tribesnext.com/downloads
It's a game with jetpacks and projectile weapons. If you want to try it out and have problems setting it up send me a message. I'll be glad to help.
I will give the advice I always give, it is usually ignored.
when go into option and to where you configure the keys and buttens on your kb and mouse.
then place your hands over both (as if you were playing, and look on them, consider where the buttens would be for you to be comfortable with them, and if possible map a few more buttens to your mouse, IF you have spare buttens on it.
then crank down the sens on the mouse untill you are comfortable with how fast it is.
jump in and play the sp game after that, muck around till you are comfortable with it, might take a few hours, or a few days.
On the bright side, when you begin to feel comfortable you can basicly play any fps game, and up the mouse speed, as needed.
I do not play the default buttens, while I do use the wasd for movement, I use my middle mouse butten to duck, right mousebutten to jump, ctrl to aim/secondery fire and space to pick up a kit, or enter a vehicle.
It is a great deal different from alot of players, but I prefer it since to me it makes me more mobile, and since the aim is toggled in that game I do not need to press it all the time.
run is still shift tho, and I do use the number keys to swich weapons. E for melee and q for social keys, they should be fairly normal.
Oh I also have Ironsights on butten 4 aswell, since it is in some cases easier that way. This is ofcourse just an example of swapping around.
And welcome to the pc gaming community ^^ good luck out there :)
