I am new to WoW and am playing on a trial version right now and I was wondering what the best way to meet people at low levels and that are noobs to WoW. Everyone on the server I was on seemed to know what they were doing and obviously no one wants to help out much. Any help would be appreciated.

dont be afraid to ask questions, and dont be afraid of jerks. WoW is a popular game and, as a result, it has its fair share of jerks. While most people are friendly, there will be people that call you "noob" or give you silly, stupid advice. Just be wary.

Find a good guild, too. I love my current guild, theyre really laid back and we do a lot of instances together, but we are not a raiding guild.

Why would someone show u respect you for purusely making your life harder? If u choose to level in wow at all dont go holy on anything. Shak has clearly never made it past lvl 30

Either that, or Shak (like me when I was leveling my holy priest) spent all his time in groups and instances. Obviously, you've never played a leveling holy priest.

I would not suggest healing inless you enjoyed it in a past mmos.. To me healing is just boring, it feels like a wack a mole game, where i don't really compete against every one else. Unfortantely this hasn't really changed in any mmo..

Going a healing spec in a given class is just downright murder in trying to solo by your self at times.. ANd at low levels do not go into a healing spec.. You will heal instances just fine unspecced for it, and you will solo just fine..

If your still on the trial, you may want to look at Warhammer.. I havn't played it my self, though I have heard mixed things abou tit.. Some absolutely love it, others see it lacking.. Though this seems the case for most MMO's, suggest you just wait..

While playing as a healer is my favorite thing in WoW (I like the utility classes, i.e. tanks and healers...anyone, really, can be good at dps, but not anyone can be a good healer or tank lol), I am compelled to agree with you.

If you do go as a priest, do not level as holy. If you go as a warrior or paladin, do not level as protection.

Most of what you say is true. Except for healing not being fun :P But thats just opinions differing.

As for Warhammer, dont hold your breath. Everyone I have spoken to in the beta (quite a few guildmates, actually) say it doesnt compare, even when you factor in the PvP. Stick with WoW; its proven as a good MMO. Warhammer still has to be released, get updated (as all new MMOs do) and prove itself. Ive wasted about 200 bucks buying MMOs on release date only to play them for the first free 30 days and uninstall them.

ask around and see if people will invite you.

its best to join a nice active guild which you can stick with for a long time.

I'm new myself, I've been on a little less than a month. I've found everyone to be extremely helpful and friendly. My first few hours on the game someone gave me 3 gold and told me it was to start me off on the right foot. And I've been on instances where someone said I could have anything I wanted. I'm loving the game so far.

ya, it really is a great community. I think a lot of people's bad impressions with it come from the fact that it is large, and as a result the number of jerks are more prosperous.

The thing I love about WoW, and what keeps me coming back, is that its a true MMO. Going on and socializing with your e-friends seems as much a part as questing, instancing, and PvP. Ive enjoyed other MMOs, but they all lack that atmosphere (the only exclusion to this is EVE, which had a really nice, talkative atmosphere).

Its gonna be hard to meet people in WoW on a trial account. A trial account has whispers, general chat, and inviting disabled unless they are on your friends list. I think if you like the gameplay, you should go ahead and drop the 20 bucks to get the regular edition of WoW.

Here's all the advice you will ever need for WoW-

1.Delete your characters

2.Cancel your account

3.Unistall WoW from your computer

4.Eject the disc from your tray

5.Break your disc

6.Burn the manual and box

7.Leave your basement, go outside

There, now you won't have to spend money every month on a crap game. You'll thank me when instead of leveling up with your "friends" online, you hang out with your friends in real life. It's way better dude, trust me.

Play on a High or Full pop server. It will have many players still leveling characters and the zones won't feel empty.

Well the thing is.. WoW's community is awful.. Of every mmo I have played, WoW is undoubtly the worse. Its not just the huge amount of people, its just disportionately BAD.. I mean read some of the forums, its stupid.. And to me some of those arguments are angry for lack of ab etter term nerds.. Now I don't like using that term, but when I see people using "lrn2play" "QQ" or the numerous other things.. To me it seems like the community is made of angry 16 year olds.. Its worse then System wars for crying out loud!

I am new to WoW and am playing on a trial version right now and I was wondering what the best way to meet people at low levels and that are noobs to WoW. Everyone on the server I was on seemed to know what they were doing and obviously no one wants to help out much. Any help would be appreciated.h575309

Many people in WoW at low levels are just making alternative characters. (Alts) The people not wanting to help are normally rude and even selfish at times. Just associate with people according to how they act, when you hit around 15 - 20 or so you can start doing instances, and that's where you'll meet alot of people. If they act cool, add them to your friend's list, or join their guild. Ignore the people saying to uninstall/break your discs, and to get Warhammer. If you need more help, hit me up with a message, I'll send you my servers and character names.

Icey was probably refering to people who solo. Sure, you can find a group, but sometimes there's no one out there to group with.. and it does get pretty tough for a holy priest. A holy paladin is another story. I leveled fast with my Holy Paladin.

I don't know if you're attempting comedy or if you're exaggerating a point.. Either way you should realise that your post does in no way, shape or form benefit this forum. Back on topic. The best way to 'find' people is to simply play the game. They come as they come. Maybe you need hepl with a quest and someone is on the same one, do it together and ta-da! WoW is full of jerks, but so is every online game. Don't mind the arses and you'll see that there's actually quite a friendly community within WoW. Now I haven't played the game since the release of B.C but I expect it's not much different community wise.
