Ok. I got the Samsung LN32B460 yesterday and I have been testing it for lag. I played GH and COD 4 and I think there might still be just a tad bit of lag because of my TV only had 6ms response time. Would I really be able to tell the difference if I got one that was 5ms or lower? Or could I just be needing better HDMI cables? I got some Rocketfish ones from Best Buy. Or should I try to use VGA cables and tell if that will make a difference?

VGA would be the best if you're looking for the least amount of lag. If the TV has a gaming setting on it, turn it on and see if that makes a difference. Some TVs will process images faster this way at the cost of image quality. The lowest response time is 5 ms. Any faster is what they call "overdrive" processing which can introduce blurring and ghosting since it's artificial. If the lag in your TV is enough that you notice after all of this then I would trade the TV for a better one. Stores will sometimes let you bring in your gaming hardware to test TVs.

Ok. Thanks. I think I am gonna try out the VGA cords then. I did try out the Game Mode and that did seem to help. I have been playing my 360 on a SDTV for over 2 years now so maybe I just have to adjust to a HDTV.

I didn't make the move to HD until about 2 1/2 years ago and it does take some adjusting at first, but you won't notice it after a while. Lag is inherent in HDTVs which is a sad reality. The worst experience I had was with Rock Band where I have lag compensation in the game set to 30 ms for my LCD. On my DLP it was only 5-10 ms. Overall though I think my gaming experience has been heightened and it's worth it.

Well I appreciate the advice and all. Thanks alot. I am just gonna give it some time. I got a 90 day guarantee on it so I'll just try to adjust to it. I was going to get a plasma so I wouldn't really have to deal with this problem but I just feel that LCD's are better. Hopefully, my gaming experience will be better because of HD too.
