Hey everyone, i've been meaning to uprade to a widescreen monitor for a while now, since most pc games actually seem to be supporting it at last.

Anyway have been looking around and saw this, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-013-AS.

Just wondering what anyone thinks of that and if it's a good buy, to be honest i dont really feel like going any higher price wise, just bought a gtx 260 a few weeks ago and dont want to go spending another load of money on my computer so soon lol.

Anyway thanks for the help and cya, Dave.

If this is the monitor your referring to ? .... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-028-NE&tool=3 .... Then YES !...I'm not quite sure what the price difference equates out to in USD, but the specs and customer reviews are awesome on that monitor. And apparently it normally sells for much more than the current listing price. NEC has always made top notch panels.

I currently have been using a 20.1" LG lcd for the last 2 1/2 years and love the screen, but I have been starting to look around at LCD's, wanting to move up to a 24" like yourself. I'll need to look into this monitor...I was impressed from what I saw so far....Good Luck !

MVA ? you sure it don't got input lag ? http://www.pchardwarehelp.com/guides/lcd-panel-types.php
Summary of LCD Panel Technology
  • S-IPS/H-IPS panels are generally considered the best all around panel type, but they are more expensive and very few are made. High end, expensive.
  • S-PVA/MVA panels offer better color reproduction and viewing angles than TN panels, have slightly worse response times than TN or S-IPS, offer the best contrast ratios, may suffer from color shifting or input lag and have higher availability than S-IPS panels. Mid range, fair price.
  • TN panels are very cheap and have the fastest response times, but suffer from inferior color reproduction, contrast ratios and viewing angles. Low end, inexpensive.

i really don't trust MVA PANEL as they inferrior to TN panel In refresh rate and way infferior of H-IPS In Color reproduction if MVA was no input lag and such
or no ghosting visible or such i would taken one cause when i look them at store they look a little better in color reproduction

There is a H-IPS http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-003-HP&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=
for the price of
389.99
ex VAT
£448.49 inc VAT
it same price and and i belive it much higher qualtiy then NEC MVA PANEL
because you'r looking int 1920x1200 Gaming monitor right ?! and even if you'r a industry H-IPS Is like i said better then MVA as far i heard from comparison beetween them that what i could learn from lot of basic information of how LCD Panel Work and it what told me as well some guy on gamespot

you know in canada they are no single H-IPS or S-IPS Of under 850$ NEC with bad review in S-IPS H-IPS does of really slow Freshrate build compare to other and HP bah i don't know it was very well expensive too the same model the LP274W 24" and 1007$ For the planar 24 inch (out of stock)
so i ad no choice to get a TN panel so went with a Tn panel one of quality : The Samsung T240 Black rose for 320$CAD

Is this the monitor ? ....... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236051

You never indicated what monitor you were looking at in your original post...I take it, it's the one in the link I posted above which I found on Newegg's site to compair to the one you posted. If it's the same monitor, it looks nice, got some overall good reviews from people that have purchased it....But the Newegg site lists it as a 21.5" screen, not 22"...It does have lot of input connections, which are nice and given the price (shown in USD's) it seems to be a good value. I know a lot of LCD's don't come with HDMI ports, so maybe that is a difference maker in the screen size, although half an inch is not that big a deal, if indeed that is the case.

I don't know what LCD makes are or are not available where your at, so if it's an issue of a limited selection and your not able to really make a larger comparison.....this one seem to be a nice deal.

Your welcome !......To create a hyperlink, just highlight the address of the site your on in your web browser and then right click the highlighted address. Then select copy in the box that opens by left-clicking it. Then go to the forum where you want to post your message and Right click where your courser is and a box will open again, this time you select paste by left clicking it. A link of the address that was in your browser will appear where your courser is positioned. Make sure you hit the space bar or the enter key after that to highlight the hyperlink.

Good luck with your monitor !..........:)
