Holy Sh!t! and these aren't even half done yet, I'd love to see the final full renderer version. I'm more impressed by the scale now than the actual visuals. But the Dynamic weather looks like it will be very immersive
you know what physx would be good for? snow. like, blizzards. not "ZOMG LOOK AT THESE SHINY GLOWY THINGS MOVING IN A FUNNY WAY".Holy Sh!t! and these aren't even half done yet

Yeah one is slightly higher than 1440p :?
But I agree, Particle effects in snow and rain would be a lot cooler. Maybe some effects coming out of igni and some other spells too would be nice. UE4 nailed the snow particles in it's tech demo, but I hate that weird tentacle effect it over uses. That "Funny way" you mentioned. Seems way too deliberate
Also you're mroe in tune with the lore than I am, what part of Temeria do you think it's in? BTW you have no idea how long it took me to think of Temeria. I thought of Tyria, Tamriel and Tererria lol
Playing TW2 at the moment, it is great.
But every bit of news which comes out for the 3rd game seems to be addressing things that the players wanted. Getting rid of the QTEs is a good thing.
2014 can not come sooner. :P

The Witcher 3 is using PhysX with the APEX module. It has cloth, fluid and destruction simulation. Particle effects and fluid simulation are basically the same thing.
The "tentacle" effect is turbulence and it's physically accurate. I only gets obnoxious when there are tons of light particles in neon colours.

i have no idea lol. i don't really know much about the witcher other than what the two books and games said, and i can't recall places for my life, other than the most iconic ones.[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]

That's good to hear then. But when you have millions of particles for fire and watch them all float around in that manner it seems very forced and doesn't immerse me, it distracts me and looks obnoxious
Stunning shot!
mitu123
I think it's weird how all the shots are different resolutions. Some are huge and that one you posted is rather poor res wise
They are setting the bar too high.CDPR are the best rpg devs atm,but can they achieve this?
Only time will tell...
LOL @ concept art # 9.

It's because it's a smaller screen due to not being open with view full resolution, here's a bigger version of the pic:Now I really need to finish the first two. Half done with the second, dabbled in the first. I should have it done in time.
EDIT: I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this will be openworld. With the gritty setting the the Elder Scrolls has yet to even breath on, I hope that TW3 is going to be what we really want it to be.

Games are getting closer and closer to art concept renders.
This looks absolutely epic. If all those weather effects look as good as you might think from this still, it will be incredible!

it looks like a bullshot, TBH :P or maybe an actual concept render. some sort of digitart, but it doesn't look like in-game stuff. because if it is... holy mother of god, i need a new PC.these pics are taking so damn long to load i gave up on checking them.[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]you know what physx would be good for? snow. like, blizzards. not "ZOMG LOOK AT THESE SHINY GLOWY THINGS MOVING IN A FUNNY WAY". Don't forget that TW2 looked amazing and that game came out 2 years ago. I have faith that CD Projekt Red can pull this off

i blame the jaggies on CDPR's horrible habit of oversharpening everything :P[QUOTE="Ben-Buja"][QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]

They said the final version should look considerably ebtter than this
That's why I am so excited about it, because while these look good (some look very rough though) it's still gonna get a lot better

i blame the jaggies on CDPR's horrible habit of oversharpening everything :PI hate how they tied the sharpening filter and grain effect to in game AA. once you turn off in game AA and use soemthing like SMAA or SweetFX the game looked considerably cleaner

I really wish we had some real time footage though
