E3 video always looks good then when released will look nothing like it, probably ported from console to pc

The Witcher games have been well known for pushing the limits of systems when they come out, there is zero evidence that should lead you to assume this trailer is bullshit.
I still have to finish the Witcher 2 first... And perhaps a GPU upgrade.
I will definitely need a GPU upgrade. No way am I gonna play this game with my 7770. When the time comes I'll probably create a thread here and ask you people for advice on which GPU to get.

Dual Titan Z... If you got 6 000$ to spend on GPU... :P (PS: TriSli 780Ti will probably yield better result and cost less than half that) :P
Hopefully the gtx 800 series will be out by then and hopefully i would have saved up enough money for an upgrade.

That's out of the question lol. My budget will probably be around 250 euros max. I hope some GPUs like the GTX 770 will have dropped a little in price by the time February and The Witcher 3 comes.
To be honest, I'm not really thrilled about it. From the trailer the game looks like a mix between LoTR (The Wild Hunt King looks almost exactly like Sauron in the movie), Skyrim and Dragon's Dogma. It lacks the slavic mythology and dark atmosphere of the first Witcher, which I loved.
I got 16 hours in the Witcher 1 and 20 hours in the Witcher 2. Maybe in this one I get 25 hours since it's open world and all ;d
Yea the linear scope of the first two turned me off. I finished the first one and the combat was not great but I liked it much better than the second. The second one had ridiculously bad consolized combat, that is my only concern for this one.

This is not Ubisoft.

Incredibly cynical. I bought Witcher 2 for 360 after playing it on PC on my monitor and thinking wow that looks amazing and the 360 version looked so bad I gave it away. It was f***ing awful.
I have told my OH I want to play this game properly so have a system unit upstairs hooked up to large screen HDTV and so am currently playing it the ONLY way it will look incredible.
Witcher 3 will be no different. It will look good on PS4 and X1 and it will look AMAZING on PC.
Maybe I am old but it's hard for me to get excited about a trailer. The combat it both Witcher games was pretty forgettable so I hope the third time is the charm. I really like CD Projekt as a company. I just wish I liked their games more.
@FelipeInside: When you start the first game there's a group of Witchers and you all split out different ways, never to hear from them again (which I thought was weird) the Witchers in the trailer may be them. Plus, there can also be other Witchers they never knew about(as was the case for the 3 others Witchers in TW2). I don't see anything in the trailer suggesting there are heaps of them though.
Also, from what I understand, the Wild Hunt is not a singular event that happened only once, it's something that happens over and over again.
The trailer looks phenomenal. One day I'm sure I'll play it but I don't think I have it in me to beat another lengthy single player RPG.
So GoG.com selling it for $48 if you own both TW1 and TW2 (I do) when pre-ordering now, but I'm thinking about holding out because TW2 had an awesome box and I hope TW3 gets something similar. I was hoping GoG would let me pre-order a physical version, but it doesn't look like it. Not sure if I can pass up $12 off though.

What a shame. :P
Ah GoG are very generous. Since the game is around $20 more here in Australia compared to the US we get a $20 coupon to spend on the site. I love how they acknowledge the price difference of games in different countries.
he's just one of the last of them and a famous one. There are only 3 of them left not including Geralt i think
As for the bit about the wild hunt...im gonna have to replay the games because i can't remember all the details

Yea, except Poland, where the site originated. Here the prices on the site are still in US Dollars, so everything on there is not worth the price when you convert it to our currency - the price sometimes reaches a price equivalent of a game released 2 years ago (after a price drop ofc). Not cool, CD Projekt... Not cool...
i was really bored in witcher 2, i got it for only few bucks but deleted it within a few hours of playing it. Not sure why people like this game, its gameplay is terrible. I played the original all the way through and its gameplay was even worse but it was quite a while ago so i could forgive its crappy controls.
I ended up playing Two Worlds 2 right after it and that game is infinitely better and so much more fun and non linear. But Two Worlds never got any praise even though its a much better game then the witcher 2.
It comes down to linear gameplay for me, Witcher 2 forced you down a really linear path the entire time I played it, who knows if it ever opened up, i was bored before i could find out.
I even liked Kingdoms of Amalur slightly more then witcher 2. even though that game is fairly boring and has weak combat like in witcher 2
