"Desktop Replacement." I'm sure it will play ALL of those games on maxed except maybe fallout/crysis. I don't know if you were going for mobile gaming, but 11-13lbs isn't fun to carry around (probably gona be the 13lbs since you had everything on it).

a 8800 GTX in SLI on a desktop is a different card (1gb mean 512 on each card, desktop GTX hsa 768mb) and sould get crysis on Very High

but you can probably play High cause your res isnt that hightry Very High but wont get that good FPSLehman

Yeah, As long as you're not a college student lugging it from class to class. It should be fine if you don't move often.

You should easily max any Unreal 3 engine game (cod4, ut3, etc.). Crysis will probably run high with some veryhigh. Medium looks fine.

I love Dells (have 3) but for that price you could have 8800GTX SLI in a Sager. I still don't know why they are hawking 8700's in their flagship laptop. Oh well.

This thing is useless as a laptop. It will be too big to fit in any backpack and the battery life MIGHT be 45 minutes. Why not just buy two gaming desktops (one for work and one for home) and save $600.TheSystemLord1

Gaming laptops are not meant to be ULTRA portable or good on batteries. They are meant to be MORE portable than desktops as that is what they are replacing. I have both. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. The TC is obviously more interested in the advantages.

I understand where you are coming from. I recently got a current gen rig because of the advancements over laptops. They just haven't caught up. The mobile 8800GTX only has 96 SP's. ONLY 96!!!! :shock:

I'm saying that those games are usually laptop friendly. Blizzard is known for scaling down the graphics in exchange for performance, that is why I included SC2 in that little list...

im not a casual gamer the xps im getting with th sli nvida 8800 and the higher end processer im gettiing will play ccrysis and any new game i want smoothly,did my reserch and watched some vids,i think if you dont belive this you cant get one or havnt done the research either.it is powerful more powerful than most rigs yes it isnt as portable but for me its perfect to and from places i go cause im sitting in either place for more than 5 hours each place.SHOEGOO

It's not Dell, it's Nvidia (the card maker). They evidently couldn't get adequate cooling with specs similar to a desktop 8800GTX so they gimped the mobile cards down to around the specs of a 8800GTS 640MB. They are still the best laptop offering, but D@MN! My laptop has a GeForce Go 7900GTX. It is basically an underclocked desktop version. The 8800m GTX is a much more limited version of its equivalent.
