Newb PC gamers seeks help

I am usually a 360 gamers and i'm recently getting more and more interested in PC RPG games. Me and my friend decided to get Diablo 3 when it comes out, my question is:

Diablo 3 comes out, should I get Diablo 2 and get a feel for the game or do you suggest any great RPG.

Diablo 3 is still probably a way off, and there's still a tonne of people playing Diablo 2, so you might as well pick it up (it's cheap!) and play it.

There wouldn't be a requirement to play it to play Diablo 3, but it's still a great game none-the-less. ;)

I also recommend Titan Quest, perhaps even more than Diablo 2. If you get Steam (www.steampowered.com) and download the client, you and your friend can be playing it online together as soon as its done downloading. I believe the gold edition (original game plus the awesome expansion) is only 25 dollars or so.

TQ is a very fun game, and it will get you nicely warmed up. Its a good value, has a cool atmosphere (mythic greek), and its a boatload of fun...especially with a friend.

maybe trying the fallout games would be great to get geared up for the upcoming hybrid RPG/Shooter Fallout 3. They are considered the best PC RPGs ever (and, to most people, the best ever period) with Diablo right behind them.

I personally think it's a better way to go becuz Diablo is just grinding, albeit REALLY FUN grinding. The best choice would be to get all of them (they're probably like 5 bucks each) and just beat them all in one frothing made session.

i agree with everything written above. except for the playing with a friend thing. because my imaginary friends don't want to play with me. :cry:
