what power supply is needed for the GeForce 8600 GT? (cheaper than 8800 GTX) does it support PCI-E x16?

Yeah, as long as your computer was built in the last 3-4 years, your power supply is almost certainly going to be enough for an 8600GT.

And the 8600GT only supports PCI-e x16 last I checked.
