... when it comes to buying games. They have incredible deals for under $10. This was posted a while back, but it really is worth a mention again. As OoSuperMarioO would say, "Marvelous".

Shipping and tax :(JigglyWiggly_
Shipping is usually free, and unless you live in CA I don't think they tax you.

I guess all the sunshine and beaches come at a price :P
Tax is barely anything when you're shopping at $9.99 abd below though.
Wow, there are some amazing deals on there. It's like the Steam holiday sale all over again.

Except this time the deals are here to stay, or until they run out of stock.
Newegg is awesome. They are by far my favorite online retailer. Not only built my PC with their parts but usually buy my games from there as well. Oh, and their 'free shipping' is actually good unlike Amazon where my last order took well over 2 weeks to arrive. Newegg's free is usually 3 days or less.
Shipping? You mean to tell me that you guys still buy your games in boxes? In the year 2010? That's adorable! FarCountry
I do buy a lot of Steam games (over 100 on my account), but unfortunately live in WA so they get to hit me with the sales tax. New games are always the most expensive there for me, although I sure love to take advantage of the sales.

Yeah, I think I bought about 10 games during Steam's holiday sale in December. They are my go to for games now because I'm really tired of disks...... and driving through a blizzard to visit Best Buy. As for Newegg not getting any love, that's just not true! I can't remember the last time I bought computer hardware from anyone else. Now if they would just expand their downloadable games selection.......[QUOTE="mkaliaz"][QUOTE="FarCountry"]Shipping? Not when it's 9.75% here in LA county, CA, that's an extra dollar I could use at McD's!Saving five bucks is awesomeness, I borrow most of my games now so I havent bought anything since TF2???
Newegg is cool, but...I work at Micro Center, which is like nerd Meca. So with my employee discount, it really can't be beat.

FarCountryIt won't be so funny when something happens to your Steam account and all your games are gone. I'll still be playing with the disk in the tray.
[QUOTE="FarCountry"]Don't get me wrong, I love Steam but I like to own my games. chandu83
So when they jack up my account, they are gonna take my games and.... play them? I hate them drive by gamers.
I am sure there are a few horror stories floating around, but I am the one with the matching credit card (changing to my Ron Pearlman voice) and money, money always wins.

I don't see any special deals on the newegg site... Did it end already?Pvt_r3d

Although, the scale of loss is a lot smaller with disks. If you lose your account you lose everything in that account. With a disk, you just lose that one game. Regardless, they aren't going to lock your account without a reason.

A lot of people like the actually own their games and be able to collect them. I love steam, but all the games I have on steam I would rather have a physical copy of.

You can always back up each individual copy of your games to a DVD...[QUOTE="morrowindnic"][QUOTE="FarCountry"]Shipping? You mean to tell me that you guys still buy your games in boxes? In the year 2010? That's adorable! DasVolks

You can always back up each individual copy of your games to a DVD...Can you play those dvds as games, without running steam? No, they are data discs, for backup purposes only.

I think some dude on here actually made a "Steam Unlocker" because he hated Steam. I never bugged him about it though, although I'm sure you could find it or something similar on the web. Please Log In to post.
