until they gave in and raised the price for the 3870s!

I doubt they will stay that way but it is possibly, newegg does want all the money they can get...

i hope they drop by christmas. if they raised it just for christmas profit...well that would just suck, on so many levels.

this almost makes me want the 8800gt, but according to GPUreview, the 3870 has the better stats so i guess ill just wait until it drops back down.

i hope they drop by christmas. if they raised it just for christmas profit...well that would just suck, on so many levels.

this almost makes me want the 8800gt, but according to GPUreview, the 3870 has the better stats so i guess ill just wait until it drops back down.

except the 8800gt performs better than the 3870 in most test because of better architecture, on paper all the ati cards look better than their nvidia counterparts but they dont end up performing better.

that being said, the 3870 is an excellent deal for its performance, but now that it has gone up not so much anymore, plus if it hits gt prices you can forget it all together

Newegg's had automatic price adjustments for a long, long time. If something starts selling quickly, its price will skyrocket without anybody at Newegg having to manually change anything. When the sales slow down, the prices drop. It's what's happened with the 8800GT and now the HD3870.. I dunno why people were trying to argue that the HD card was $100 cheaper heh.

it already has. the a PNY 8800GT costs 270$
