GeForce GTX 295 Quad-SLI does up to 64xQ FSAA

With GeForce 185.20 beta drivers

The guys
over at PCGamesHardware have released some particularly noteworthy information regarding GeForce GTX 295's anti-aliasing capabilities. According to the site's represented graph, the new cards, when used in dual pairs for Quad-SLI, are capable of rendering up to 64xQ full screen anti-aliasing.

To define the process of this capability, each individual GPU core calculates 16xQ FSAA and the results are combined and applied to the image currently being rendered. It is important to note, however, that 16xQ full screen AA is not necessarily 16x multisampling AA but is essentially 8x MSAA with eight additional coverage samples, 16 in total.

Moreover, the effect of full 64xQ FSAA is only available on GeForce 185.20 beta drivers at the moment and neither game screenshots nor benchmarks have been released yet.

lol ya 64x AA is totally worthless, my ati card does 24x and i don't see one bit of difference between that and 8x, only a performance drop is apparent.

Who needs 64xQ FSAA anyway?

It won't work with GTAIV anyway.

no one needs 64AA.....seriously...for most games 8 x aa is about as high as is necessary, 4x aa is usually pretty good..16x aa fixes almost any jaggy

i just dont see how you could possibly need this..seems like a waste of resources

I have to admit that I consider myself a pretty visually oriented person with low tolerance for jaggies, but even I can't see much difference between settings at higher AA settings.
