Agreed. BC2's hit detection was horrid.
QQabitmoar
For my experience it was the exact opposite :U
From my experience of hundreds of hours in both games...I had deaths after taking cover in pretty much every BC2 match I ever played. In BF3, it happened, but once or twice a day.
And you don't want to get me started on the knifing in BC2. Air knifing facing the other way, the dude walks 5 meters then falls down and I get the knife kill. Shlt like that was everyday stuff.
Were you playing on high ping servers? I very rarely had issues after the first couple of patches, except for the occasional crouched sniper. And, to be honest, I could care less if the CoD knife lunge was working or not. It was still miles better than the frustration caused by BF3's hit detection. I care more about having a fair playing field than having every last one of my bullets register. If I shoot someone and the server says he was behind cover, it shouldn't register. It's my fault for having a **** internet connection and/or picking a high ping server to play on.I find it impossible to effectively take cover in BF3 simply because the hit detection favors the shooter and, if they're high ping, you're dead before the server even tells the player they're being shot. How's that fair? The whole point of having servers is to have better networking / hit detection and to level the playing field.
BF3 has the exact same issues as BC2:

Except for Vietnam and Heroes, I've played all the BF titles extensively and I've never been as frustrated as I am with BF3's hit detection. It's clearly a step in the wrong detection for the series. I don't even bother playing anymore because I know it'll be more frustrating that it is enjoyable.
