Idk about online, but the game takes so much time to complete, must be hard to find an opponent to stay till the end. And there was so many flaws in civ 5 it must be very unbalanced.
These games are never about online, it has a huge active community (it's always in top 8 of the most played Steam games, usually goes from 6 to 8 sometimes as low as 5, I actually can't believe it's that popular) but it's jut that nobody cares about multiplayer.
I disagree. I didn't like Civ 5, but I played many multiplayer games with friends of Civ 4. I never jumped into a random game because of the length of times it took to finish, but it's a great game to play with friends.

It's a great game to play with friends and that's how you can play multiplayer, with friends, but in general absolutely nobody cares about multiplayer for TBSs, that's why online is dead.

These assertions seem pretty baseless to me. Civ V received generally awesome reviews, some better than Civ IV. So name these "balancing issues" or don't claim them.

Gamers are missing out these days. I had lots of fun with TBS games multiplayer in the 90's and early 00's when they were more popular.
