and u can get crts for very cheap today of ebay or craigslist or something

The colours on a high quality CRT are as much vibrant as any LCD.What you are probably refering to is the overall clear picture of LCD.And high quality LCD>High quality CRT>>TN panel LCD and lagging non-TN LCD's.
As long as you have the graphics power to play in the native res,nothing can beat a high quality LCD.Ofcourse if you dont have it then maybe you can give the edge to a CRT but actually the better 1080p HDTV's in the market are EXTREMELY good at upscaling.

Those are good 22 inch TN monitors but TN panels are still the worst type of LCD screens. They are definitly not high-quality by any means.
true, but a majority of gamers, if not all, are going to be getting some kind of TN lcd when monitor shopping,rather than those other kinds(forgot what there called) that are meant for graphic design and such
overall though a highquality crt >>>>high quality TN lcd imo
especially when u addin the price
u can get nice 21" crts for dirt cheap off ebay of craigslist (assuming u do ur research and get from a trustworthy seller)
i forgot to say about mine, i got for $80 w/shipping, the dell p1110(just google that and u will find tons of topics of this "brightness" problem wiht that model) and the one i got was a victim of it, BUT the seller gave me a full refund w/shipping AND he told me just to keep it, i did a little research on the bad boy and did the resistor mod for it and the picture quality WAS GOOD AS NEW, and all for free
really couldnt ask for a better deal than that :P
but the one big thing in particular i LOVE about crts>LCD's(tn panels in particular, not sure about other panels) is the refreshrates
1600x1200 @ 85hz is jsut sooooo mcuh smoother than 1680x1050(something like that for lcd's)@ 60hz, if ur computer is powerful enough to produce frames that high for todays games
