Not really. Most people don't know what DVI-D is. Far less people know what HDCP is. Frankly, nobody really cares what it is either.

Hey let it go guys, it's an honest question. DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface, Anyway, DVI is more or less equivalent to HDMI which you may have heard of, although HDMI also carries 7.1 audio. Although the physical connectors are different, their specs are the same. DVI comes in three flavors, DVI-A DVI-D and DVI-I (I think the suffix is I anyway). A is for purely analog signals, D is for purely digital signals (which video cards use on your computer), and I is capable of using either. HDCP stand for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection - Things like BluRay players make sure that the display device you're using has this to make sure you're not stealing any of the media.

Im glad you don't come to this board often because we don't need punk kids with smart @ss comments. Please leave them to yourself, if you don't feel like helping then at least don't troll.

Memorizing is better than not knowing nothing, which is something you seem to excel at.

Remind me not to take advice from you the next time I need someone to tell me whether I should use DVI-D or VGA for my LCD.

I wouldn't have even noticed that this post was from February unless you had pointed it out. Nonetheless, we on the PC Hardware forum taking helping people very serious, regardless of knowledge level. It may have been fun and games, but it's pretty harsh still.
