I'm starting to wonder whether I'm expecting too much? I'd seriously hope not for the 1k I shelled out over the rig listed below. But the fact is, I'm not getting the kind of flawless performance I want on games such as Bioshock & even a game pretty dated now in Oblivion. So with that said, I'm pushing the boat further & am looking at upgrading on what I have below. Bare in mind this is a brand new system, what would you sugest I add to what's already there? Thanks.

I find it hard to believe you are not getting really good performance out of that rig. Do you have the latest drivers and what not??? Its most likely drivers. Dont expect much out DX10 in bioshock because its hald assed. Most of the games that have some DX10 features were very poorly optimized. Wait until crysis comes out and see how your rig holds up. Dont waste your time with the demo. It doesnt even support quad cores. It will only recognize one core of your 4 cores.

That rig should be fine. What resolution are you playing at?

I'm playing at max. resolution with settings at high. Don't get me wrong guys, the performance is alright on maxed settings, but I do get a very noticeable ammount of slowdown during the more demanding sections of games. I think I'll have a look at the drivers, I'm pretty sure my graphics card one is upto date.

Clearly something is wrong since you're playing on a 19 inch monitor. How about you let us help you solve the problem with more info instead of throwing money at it.

What'd you need to know mate? It's a difficult one this, because maybe my interpritation of the performance could differ from another, is there some kind of programme out there I can run to test the system performance?

Download and run 3dmark06 Demo/Trial and run it, its a 15 minute or so benchmark. If you tell us your score, we can tell you if its in line with what you should be seeing.

Came out at 11551 marks.

Your system compared to all 2787470 system configurations. There are 169153 systems with a higher score and 2618317 systems with a lower score than your system.

These stats are pretty much telling me I'm getting good performance, but man I don't know, during that first demo it was pretty consitent at between 20-30 fps a second, that's normal?

When it first came out people got scores of a couple thousand. Its made to benchmark, of course its not going to run at 100 FPS, that wouldn't be benchmarkin much.

Those scores are perfectly normal and are as they should be. I am running Crysis at Very High with XP tweak and the overclockers.net FPS tweak, no AA and 1440x900 and getting 25-40 FPS. Have you tried tweaking settings and so forth?
